Arouse the curiosity and sense of wonder of your class as students participate in hands-on activities aboard our 45' floating classroom and the outdoors in Southeast Texas. Each experience is structured to support state-mandated teaching and testing objectives (TEKS/TAKS).
The Cardinal is a 49-passenger United States Coast Guard Certified river boat with perimeter seating giving everyone on the boat an open view of the wonders of the outdoors. At the same time, students receive instructions and view demonstrations on the water. Along with boat activities, certified facilitators can help students participate in interactive lessons that are directly correlated to TEKS and TAKS. Our professional staff will work with you to provide activities that improve student performance, furnish you with curriculum for your classroom and support you with follow-up visits to your schools. This is one of the most comprehensive outdoor learning experiences available anywhere.
Students will be intrigued with the unique wonders of our area and experience this unforgettable adventure delivered in a cost-effective manner with limited grants being available to classes who need financial support.

Project Wild

Whether formal, non-formal, home school, or scouts, Project WILD can assist you in teaching any subject, to any grade level: Science, Social Studies, Math, Literacy, or Art. Our commitment to educators is provided in our educational materials and resources. Educator evaluations tell us that educators acquire new teaching skills and practices through Project WILD --practices that translate into more effective teaching.
Project Wild is a wildlife conservation focused education program for K-12 educators and their students.  Project Wild is one of the most widely used environmental and conservation focused education programs.  It is based on the premise that young people and educators have a vital interest in learning about our natural world. Project Wild addresses the need for human beings to develop as responsible citizens of our planet. Project Wild’s mission is to help students learn how to think, not what to think about wildlife and the environment.
In order to meet the needs of educators nationwide, correlations of Project Wild K-12 materials have been developed. These guidelines identify knowledge and skills (TEKS & TAKS) essential for environmental literacy, and articulate how environmental education fits into formal classroom settings.
The materials are available to those who attend instructional workshops offered by certified leaders and supported by a network of sponsoring state, national, and international agencies.
