Kayaking for Beginners

Learn the paddle stroke, self-rescue and water safety in the security of a pool. ravel to an outdoor location to practice your new skills. Have fun while learning to kayak and experience nature close to home. Dress to get wet and have a great time! Two days of class. Instructor: John Gordon of Coastal Paddlers

 

Beginning Kayak Trip

Experience one of the fastest growing ways to enjoy the rivers and coastal waters, within the Beaumont area, to practice your paddling skills. Depending on local water levels, the location of this trip for beginners will be announced 48 hours prior to the class. This kayak adventure will begin at 0900 and end at 1200. Dress to get wet (just in case) and have a great time!

GPS and the Outdoors

Change the way you use your GPS to work, play and interact with other GPS users. You’ll discover a whole new view of the world with the aerial photos and maps. Learn mapping software for Garmin, Magellan and Lowrance GPS owners. Experience your outdoor surroundings with a local field trip and hands on GPS use. Course meets on two days. Instructor: J. Writers Workshop
Enjoy a relaxing day paddling in a kayak on area waters with others interested in writing. Capture atmosphere, local color and mood for your travel articles, personal essays or your novel. Echo Tour
Enjoy a day on the water paddling into areas of Southeast Texas seldomly visited by people. Nature watchers, with some experience in paddling,will explore remote areas of the Neches River just a few miles from Beaumont. Bring your Kayaks, sack lunch, and your binoculars.
